PEORIA HEIGHTS — When is a $1 million deficit not a $1 million deficit?

When it turns into a $340,000 surplus.

No joke. Mostly thanks to relatively stable sales tax revenues, an uptick in property tax revenues, an added fee for garbage collection and an aggressive reorganization of village administrative positions, the path toward fiscal fitness has continued for the village into the first quarter of its 2019-2020 budget year that ended July 31.
